Fighting To Get Back To Myself

Imagine a movie plot where a successful self-made millionaire wakes up one morning to find himself financially struggling, unimportant, and unaccomplished. As he gets out of bed he questions what happened. He moves about the corridors of his meager dwelling to find his kids sharing a bedroom, his wife making breakfast in a small kitchen, and a pile of unpaid bills on the counter. “How did this happen?”, he thinks, ‘Where am I?”. As he tries to gather what has occurred, he realizes he has this incredible urgency to get back to his former self. The pull is so strong, it feels like a massive stone is resting on his chest at all times. He must remove this weight. He must find a way to breathe again.

Connecting with your vision must be like this movie. You must believe this is a life you have already lived. That somehow through some twist of fate, you have been stripped of everything that you are, and everything that you know…except for one thing: your drive. No one has taken your time or your talent from you. You can still build it all again.

So you start working. Day and night you are working. The weight of the stone impacts your ability to breathe, yet you still push. Innovating. Building. Connecting. You push and push because you know exactly what you are fighting for. You are fighting for your life.

~The stone will be lifted

To hear more about a person who removed the stone and achieved incredible, listen to this NPR podcast with Marcia Kilgore. This serial-entrepreneur has achieved things very few have. I personally think she was just coming back to herself! Did I mention she might be joining me on my podcast soon? Keep an eye out!
