2020 Vision

There are few things as solid and unwavering as my deep admiration for Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The man is literally doing everything and doing it well. He’s been known to work on several feature films at one time, while also filming tv shows, making cameo appearances, motivational speaking, maintaining a crazy workout regimen, raising children, and being a kick-ass husband. I LOVE THIS MAN! The Rock came from nothing - the name of his production company, Seven Bucks Productions, came from a time in his life when he had nothing more than seven dollars to his name. He had his back up against the wall and he could either be smashed into oblivion and become less than nothing, or he could become everything - and look at him now!

As 2020 prepares to make its big debut, I am hard at work cultivating the energy needed to be my own flavor of everything. In addition to being installed as the youngest, and the first, black President of the Glenview Chamber of Commerce, I will also play the part of inventor, founder, CEO, speaker, artist, podcast host, writer, husband, and father. These are the areas in which I will expand and continue to push all boundaries. I do so because the time is NOW! I have an obligation to live the life I have been gifted to the absolute fullest. All of us do. There is no tomorrow; you must act today.

Here are some of the lessons I learned in 2019.

  1. Practice does not make perfect because there is no such thing as perfect. Practice only helps you develop the HABIT of practicing. So I guess the saying should be practice makes HABITS.

  2. You can ATTEMPT anything if your put your TIME to it.

  3. Don’t solve problems, create new opportunities.

  4. If you want your time in the sun, you have to fight for it.

  5. Create wireframes for what you want in life. If you create the construct you increase the odds of manifestation.

  6. Whatever you want or see yourself doing in life must become part of your DNA.

  7. Being rich has nothing to do with dollars in the account.

  8. Build the Pyramid of Fandom. (Thanks Pat Flynn!)

  9. Don’t get angry, get curious. (Thanks Howard Falco!)

  10. My ultimate goal is to remove the separation between work, play and love.

Take the lessons you’ve learned, the blessings bestowed upon you, and take your world by storm!

Cheers and Happy Holidays. See you in 2020!
